Mirziyoyev to open Humo Ice Arena March 15
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will attend the opening ceremony
of the Humo Ice Arena complex, which will be held on March 15,
acording to an announcement by the Uzbekistan Hockey Federation.

Mirziyoyev visits Khumo Arena Ice Rink project
Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the construction site of
the multifunctional ice complex Khumo Arena
being built at the intersection of
Afrosiyob and Beshyogoch streets.
Construction began in February of 2017.
Events to be held at the stadium include
ice hockey, short track speedskating, and ice figure skating
plus boxing, basketball, futsal, kurash, volleyball,
entertainment, and performance events.
The complex is expected to be completed by the end of 201`8.

Uzbekistan to send two athletes to 2018 Winter Olympics
The Uzbek Olympic Committee announced Uzbek figure
skater Misha Ge and skier Komiljon Tukhtaev
will represent Uzbekistan a the 2018 Winter Olyumpics
in PyeongChang, South Korea. Uzbekistan sent
three athletes to the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi Russia:
figure skater Misha Ge, and skiers Ksenia Grigorieva and Artem Voronov.

Architects Publish Tashkent Ice Rink Design
Heerim Architects & Planners, which was awarded
the contract for designing Tashkent Multifunctional
Ice Rink Complex, published images of the future ice rink.
The Tashkent Multifunctional Ice Rink Complex
will consist of the main ice rink with 12,500 seats
where international matches to be held, and supplementary
rink with a capacity of 300 seats.
