The Paraguayan Skating Confederation (CPP)
a governing body that has existed for ten years,
was selected by the World Skate Federation
to host the 2020 World Figure Roller Skating Championships.
95% percent of the competitions will be held
in the SND Sports Center
The city of Asunción's
SND Sports Center will host most of the competitions but
one will be held at the
Paraguayan Olympic Committee's Olympic Training Center.

The Central Skating Federation (Fededep),
chaired by Nicolas Ovelar held an awards
ceremony for the best skaters of 2018, at
both the individual and club level, at
at the International Tennis Club Social Hall.
The Mara Arias Figure Skating Academy (Apama)
was designated the best in the clubs category
and the CIT was designated second best.
The Central Skating Federation is
affiliated with the Paraguayan Confede3ration of Skating,
which is the national governing body
for roller sports in Paraguay.

Instructor Fernando Kahn of the Club Deportivo Sajonia
says roller figure skating has been practiced in
Paraguay for about 50 years, including the disci8plines
of free skating figures, dance, precision, show, and
more recently inline.
Instructor Marta Arias says last year (2010)
the First South American Open was held in Asuncion.
